History

The Burton Cup dates back to the late 1940's when the trophy was donated by Burns Tailors to the B&DTTA (they also donated trophies for other sports within Bradford).  The competition is open to all teams within the Bradford League and is a not handicapped.  It is won by the team to reach 5 wins first.  Consequently the cup is generally won by the top teams in Division 1.  (At one time it was compulsory for all teams in the league to enter it).  

The cup was first won in the 1949/50 season.
